Start the new year by curing your hangover, hanging with your GGTC besties and demonstrating to the world (and any tourists in the bleachers), that you ain't scared of a little cold water!!
As with tradition, polar plunges are done in your swimsuit, but we promise we won't judge if you wear a wetsuit. But the idea is to plunge rather than getting in a full workout.
Some of us will only run in and out again, some will swim to the pizza box and back and some will do a whole perimeter! So, it wouldn't hurt to bring a pair of goggles and a swim cap in case your FOMO gets the best of you. BUT, please be aware of your own limits – if you haven't been in the bay recently or swam without a wetsuit for a while, please err on the side of caution.
Bring friends, kids, snacks, drinks, and anything else you'll need to warm up after!
Where: Aquatic Park Main (Center) Bleachers
When: We'll meet at 11:00am for an 11:15am pic and then the plunge!
We expect water temperatures around 54°F. We'll have people on-site to watch your stuff while you're plunging.
If they are still in stock, Holiday Swim Caps (silicone) will be available for purchase for $15 from Aaron if they are still available.
