The Tri and Give (TAG) program is the Golden Gate Triathlon Club’s 10-week training program for people new to the sport of triathlon, or people who want to learn more about structured training principles, and prepares them for an Olympic-distance triathlon.
GGTC works with TRIMORE Fitness to support these athletes to approach an Olympic distance triathlon with strength, endurance, and confidence! All proceeds from the program benefit local Bay Area organizations that provide athletic and learning opportunities to children. The Tri & Give Program has been running for 13 seasons.
There will be two TAG Olympic-distance triathlon training programs in 2015:
TAG to Wildflower 2015 Training Program
February 21, 2015- May 3, 2015
TAG to Santa Cruz 2015 Training Program
Since its inception in 2002, more than 600 athletes have gone through the program and successfully completed their goal race. A portion of each participant program fees are donated to GGTC's current Non-Profit Partnership beneficiary. The program has raised over $90,000 for local non-profits, including:
- Special Olympics of Northern California
- Big Brother/Big Sister of Marin and Napa
- Girls on the Run Bay Area
- Real Options for City Kids (ROCK)
- Jamestown Community Center
- Lincoln High School cross-country running team
- Trips for Kids Marin
- KEEN (2011-2012)
TAG program fees for 2015 will be donated to GGTC's Non-Profit Partnership 2015-2016 beneficiary, San Francisco Senior Centers. Read more about GGTC's Non-Profit Partnership Program here.
