Thank you so much all! I might join the Olympic training program. The half tri is a little bit too intimidating for me at this point!

Welcome Alnie!

Another great resource of newbie triathlon information is GGTCs TAG program. It is a 12-week coached program, training to an Olympic distance triathlon, very well suited to a newbie. Great coaches, great group! Thats how I got started/ addicted to this crazy sport!

The TAG group just completed Wildflower this past weekend, congrats!! And another group will start training for Santa Cruz Triathlon (July - Sept race), stay tuned for info session.

In the meantime join us for a workout! & ask away, no question is too silly

Hi Alnie,

Welcome! Are you a member of the club? Interested in training for a longer tri? The HIT (Half Ironman Training) program for Vineman starts tomorrow! Whether you are racing or just want to make new friends and get faster, it is an amazing program. Check it out here, and please let me know if you have questions!

Hi there,

I'm a complete newbie in this group and in triathlon. I have started Sprint training and find myself getting addicted. What is the best place to start in this forum to get newbie information? Tried search but did not much have hits.

Thanks a lot!

Alnie,

Take a look at the resources section of the website. There are a number of useful tips and checklists to help you on your way. We even have some really awesome coaches affiliated with GGTC, who can be available for your questions.

Also feel free to stop by any number of our events listed on the calendar (social/training) and ask questions. Remember no question is too stupid, we all started knowing next to nothing about this sport.

Thanks,
Sam
