Dorrete "Coach D2" Franks – Trifiniti
Dorette has been an athlete her entire life competing in track and field, swimming and volleyball. She is a four-time Ironman finisher, winning her age group and placing third overall at the 2004 Full Vineman. She is an accomplished ultra marathon runner and two-time Boston marathon qualifier. She is currently training for the three-day, 319-mile Ultraman in Canada.
Dorette was the head coach for the 2006 Nike Women’s Half and Full Marathon, the 2009 San Francisco AIDS Foundation, “Greater than One” marathon and half marathon programs. Her training programs and coaching tips have been featured by several endurance sports organizations, including the Golden Gate and San Francisco Triathlon Clubs, Iguana women’s running team, Swim-Art, and See Jane Run. As an author, Coach Dorette’s articles have been published in RUNNER’S WORLD, SHAPE AND WOMEN’S HEALTH magazines. Dorette currently writes a bi-weekly column on Moremarin.com.
Dorette holds coaching credentials and certifications with USA Track & Field, USA Triathlon and USA Cycling and RRCA – Road Runner’s Club of America. She is currently pursuing a degree in Dietetics with an emphasis in Sports Nutrition. She teaches cycle classes at the Bay Club Marin and The San Francisco Bay Club.
