Camping with GGTC:
Camping with GGTC is a great way to make sure that you are among familiar faces during the race week. It’s also a great way to “pre-reserve a camping space” since there will be people heading down early to Lake San Antonio to claim our campgrounds and set up tents. There are approximately 200 people that camp at the GGTC site for Wildflower Race Weekend.
Tent Drop-off:
If you would like to camp with GGTC and have your tent waiting for you at the campsite when you arrive, we highly suggest you come to our Tent Drop-off and Social event on Monday, May 1 at The Canvas 1200 9th Ave & Lincoln Way. Please bring your tent and a Ziploc bag with a 3x5 card inside that has your name and race distance (OLY = Olympic, LONG = Long). We want to make sure to put the same racers in the same area (makes for easier sleeping when the people around you aren’t out and about because they’re not racing the next day). And of course your guests are welcome to stay with us as well.
Camping Info:
GGTC plans to set up camp at Redondo Vista H. If you have not already pre-purchased your camping pass from TriCalifornia, you will have to purchase it when you arrive. Camping is arranged through the County and is $25 per car per night. If this is your first time at Wildflower, be prepared for close quarters. There will be cars pulled over and parked to the side and tents everywhere. We suggest you try to arrive at the campsite early Friday (or sooner).
RV's:
There are ~5 RV’s on the GGTC camp site. There are no RV hook-ups at our site, or any of the other surrounding sites. If you plan on parking your RV on the GGTC site, we have a courtesy rule that the generators must be off by 9pm for the racers.
Friday Night Campfire:
Friday night, 7 PM. Stop by the campfire for smores and socializing. Bring your own beverage. We could also use donations of firewood.
Saturday Night Group Dinner:
GGTC will have a catered dinner at our campsite on Saturday night. The cost is $26. All other meals are on your own.
The Anacapa Barbecue Company will provide us with a great dinner, starting with veggies and dip, followed by barbecued chicken (with vegetarian kebobs as an alternative), roasted potatoes with dill, deep dish lasagna (meat and meatless options), green salad, potato salad, and dessert.
The deadline to RSVP and pay by PayPal is Wednesday, April 26th. There will NOT be tickets available for purchase at WF. http://www.evite.com/app/publicUrl/run@ggtc.org/wfbbq
Bike Technical Support:
We'll have a Bike Wrench ON (camp)SITE for your last minute mechanical fixes, thanks to Big Swingin Cycles, our premier bike sponsor.
Body Technical Support:
We have THREE massage therapists (Albert Salopek, Michelle Maloy and Kevin Burns) AND an ART therapist (Dagmar Wittner) at your disposal.
* Sign up online for the ART therapist here: http://www.flashappointments.com/client/launch.cfm?busId=661
