We are looking for triathlon-experienced people ready to train with your GGTC-mates
for an extraordinary event. YOU and up to 39 of your best GGTC
friends will be training for Vineman Long Course Triathlon on Sunday July 20th, 2008.
You will swim 1.2 miles, bike 56 miles, and run 13.1 miles.
The half ironman training program will be professionally coached and managed by
GGTC Premier Gold Sponsor Tri More Fitness
(TMF). As USAT-Certified Triathlon Coaches, TMF Coaches Neil and Laura Fraser have
combined to successfully coach hundreds of triathletes in races of all distances,
from Sprint distance to Ironman events world-wide.
As a participant in the HIT program you will receive a 10-week periodized training
program and will utilize an account with TrainingPeaks.com.
Training Peaks is a powerful on-line software tool that allows participants to track
their training on a day to day basis, while also providing an interface for your
coach to oversee your individual training.
Participants will take part in a weekly coached group workout providing an opportunity
to interact with your coach along with the other athletes. You can also contact
your coaches via email for personal questions and feedback.

Participation in an electronic group discussion list and web forum with access limited
solely to program participants and coaches.

FAQS
Who is this for?
This program is intended for our moderately experienced athletes, meaning you've
raced an Olympic distance event at least once or twice before. As a participant,
you're in good condition and will be carrying a base level of fitness into this
program. GGTC-members only please.
When will I be working out?
Training schedules will be updated weekly. As a participant, you'll be
able to log-in to Training Peaks and view your workout schedule for the week.
There will be one group weekend workout each week of the program. (Saturday or Sunday)
Where will I be training?
Weekend group workouts will be held in San Francisco,
Marin and on the VineMan Course including swimming in
the Russian River, Biking the full 56-mile course and previewing
the run course. We also encourage all participants to attend the GGTC
track workouts on Tuesday nights. During the week you can train on your
own or with other HIT participants.
What happens if I can't make it to all the workouts? As an experienced
athlete, you know the drill Training must go on. On group workout days there will
be always be Individual Workout Option
for participants to complete on there own.
Do I have to race? No. Participation is optional. This program
is about trying something new, setting goals, and achieving them.
Can you tell me more about Vineman 70.3? Race information is available
at www.vineman.com Entry fee is
not included with the program. You must enter yourself.
How do I register for HIT? Payment is made through PayPal.
