We'll be holding a little GGTC post-Vineman 70.3 potluck this year at one of the houses rented by GGTC folks for the weekend. This year's party will be at Gillaroo House: 17444 Orchard Avenue, Guerneville, CA. This is walking distance from the house that Julia has organized, so if you're staying there you are well within stumbling home distance. ;-)
We'll get started around 6-6:30ish. This should give us time to get all our racers home and cleaned-up. This is a potluck, so please bring something to share - be it food, drink or both and anything you need for post-race refueling. We have a grill for those who want to BBQ. There are chairs out on the patio, but if you have your camp chairs up here, you should bring them along.
Here are the directions to Gillaroo House if you are heading West, towards Guerneville, on River Road (as if you were coming from Windsor High School or the GGTC Aid Station). There are at least three different ways to get to River Road from Windsor, but once on it please follow these directions as google maps is incorrect when it comes to where Orchard Ave is (Bing appears to be correct).
Directions to: Gillaroo House from River Road
1. Head West on River Road.
2. Turn left onto 116-E.
* If you want to stop at Safeway, don't turn onto 116-E. There is a Safeway if you continue on, at River Rd and Mill Street.
* If you've stopped at the Safeway in Guerneville, you will need to head East on Main St/River Rd (back the way you came from) toward Church Street. Turn right at CA-116 E.
3. Take the 2nd right onto Neeley Road.
4. Travel 1.4 miles along Neeley.
* There will come a point on Neely road where the road splits. There are street signs, but they're totally bent out of shape so you can't tell which branch is Neely as it continues on. You want the LEFT branch to stay on Neely.
5. Turn right on Orchard Avenue, at the Russian Orthodox Church.
6. Gillaroo House will be on your right side.
* The gate in front of the house opens inward. Pull the string to undo the latch and push hard. It gets stuck at the bottom, so be persistent or yell for help.

Ps. We have to be out of the house by 11:30am the next day, so...if you make a mess, please help by cleaning it up. We forgot to include a maid in our Trication budget. I know, poor planning. Next year, we'll do better. Thanks! |
